Tovino Thomas Calls ‘ARM’ an Onam Sadhya of Action, Drama

Tovino Thomas on His Role in ARM

Tovino Thomas has risen to stardom in Malayalam cinema, gaining recognition across India with hit films like Thallumaala, Minnal Murali, and 2018. His latest project, ARM (short for Ajayante Randam Moshanam), promises to be another milestone in his career. Directed by debutant Jithin Lal, ARM brings Tovino back to the big screen with a multifaceted role. The actor plays three distinct characters in the movie, showing his versatility once again.

When asked why the title was shortened to ARM, Tovino explains that the team drew inspiration from films like RRR. “When RRR came out, its simplicity and recall value worked so well. We wanted something similar for Ajayante Randam Moshanam. By abbreviating the title to ARM, we made it easier for audiences to connect with the movie,” he shares.

Krithi Shetty’s Malayalam Debut

Telugu star Krithi Shetty is making her Malayalam debut in ARM. She plays the love interest of one of Tovino’s characters and has shown great dedication in preparing for the role. Krithi, known for her linguistic skills, says, “I always make sure I know the language before working in a particular industry. However, Malayalam is quite challenging, so I requested voice-notes of dialogues to prepare better.” She praises her experience on the sets, noting that the cast and crew never made her feel out of place despite being new to Malayalam cinema.

Rohini’s Return to Malayalam Cinema

Veteran actress Rohini, who has enjoyed a remarkable career in Malayalam cinema, is back with ARM. She explains her connection to the Malayalam film industry, saying, “Most of my heroine roles were in Malayalam films, and the industry has a special place in my heart. That’s why I’m selective about the roles I take on in Malayalam.” Rohini’s role in ARM is significant, and she adds an experienced touch to the film.

ARM Tovino Thomas: An Onam Sadhya of Cinema

Tovino, Krithi, and Rohini have all likened ARM to an Onam Sadhya — a traditional feast enjoyed during the festival of Onam. Tovino shares, “Just like a Sadhya where you have chips, curries, pickles, and payasams all on one banana leaf, ARM brings together action, drama, romance, and even a hint of horror.” The film promises to be a complete entertainer, combining different elements to create an engaging cinematic experience.

Set to release on September 28th, ARM has generated excitement for its unique mix of genres and Tovino’s dynamic performances. With Krithi Shetty making her Malayalam debut and Rohini returning to her roots, this film is one to watch out for.
