Suriya Thanks Aamir Khan for Boosting His Popularity in the North

Suriya’s Gratitude to Aamir Khan

Actor Suriya, who is busy promoting his upcoming pan-India film Kanguva, has credited Aamir Khan for his popularity in North India. Though Kanguva is Suriya’s first pan-India movie, he’s already known to Hindi-speaking audiences through several of his Tamil films being remade in Hindi. However, Suriya attributes much of his success in the North to Aamir Khan.

Aamir Khan’s Influence on Suriya’s Popularity

In a recent interview, Suriya expressed his gratitude to Aamir Khan, saying that his recognition in North India is largely due to Aamir’s efforts. “When films are remade, the focus often shifts to the remake, leaving the original cast in the background. But Aamir sir did the opposite. He often mentioned the original Ghajini film and its cast during the promotion of the Hindi version. This really helped people know about me,” Suriya said.

Suriya also pointed out that Aamir Khan was key in introducing him to audiences who didn’t speak Tamil. “Aamir sir repeatedly spoke about me even before anyone else did. His support helped people across India discover me,” Suriya added.

The Success of Ghajini

Suriya explained how Ghajini holds a special place in his career. The film helped break language and cultural barriers, introducing him to wider audiences. “The experience of Ghajini was incredible. It opened doors for me and allowed people to connect with me beyond language,” he said.

In addition to Ghajini, Suriya’s other films, like Khaakha Khaakha (remade as Force), Singham, and Soorarai Pottru (remade as Sarfira), also contributed to his growing popularity in Hindi cinema.

Suriya’s Rising Popularity in Pan-India Cinema

With Kanguva, Suriya is set to expand his reach further. This pan-India film is expected to cement his place in the hearts of audiences across the nation. His journey from Ghajini to Kanguva reflects how far he has come, breaking language barriers and earning widespread love.
