However, in a surprising revelation, music composer Sam CS now claims that he is responsible for 90% of the background music (BGM) in the film.
Despite brought on after the editing process, Sam CS worked on the BGM for the entire movie. In a recent interview with TNE, Sam shared his thoughts on his role in the film’s music and how he contributed to the film’s final sound.

Sam CS, who received critical acclaim for his work on Kiran Abbavaram’s KA, was brought in to work on Pushpa 2 at a crucial stage. Although he joined the team after the edit was completed, he was tasked with scoring the BGM for the entire film. He admitted that he did not have access to the script before he began working on the project.
“I didn’t read the script before starting work because I joined after the edit. However, I scored music for the entire movie. Although they kept some of Devi Sri Prasad’s music, around 90 percent of the background score is mine, including the climax fight,” Sam shared during the interview.
Sam acknowledged that Pushpa 2 belonged to Devi Sri Prasad, who composed the original songs and background score, but due to tight production timelines, team needed additional help to wrap up the music quickly, when Sam was brought on board.
Fresh Sounds and New Techniques in Pushpa 2’s Music
Sam CS also discussed the unique approach he took to the music in Pushpa 2. Drawing from his experience and creativity, he used pipe instruments and artificial intelligence (AI) to create new sounds. Sam converted the voice generated by AI into an instrumental, adding a fresh and innovative touch to the movie’s background score.
“Pushpa 2 is a huge project. I scored the film from the audience’s perspective. For Pushpa 2, I used pipe instruments. I created a voice using AI and converted that to an instrumental. It has a fresh sound. Hopefully, people will enjoy the music,” said Sam. His efforts to bring in new and fresh sounds to the movie are evident in the background score, which has received appreciation from fans and critics alike.
Devi Sri Prasad’s Role in Pushpa 2
While Sam CS has claimed credit for the majority of the background music in Pushpa 2, Devi Sri Prasad still credited for composing the songs and the original background score. Earlier, Sam CS mentioned in a tweet that his work primarily focused on the climax portions and fight sequences, where his music played a significant role in elevating the scenes.
