Nag Ashwin Dreams of Mahesh Babu as Lord Krishna

Nag Ashwin’s Vision: Mahesh Babu as Lord Krishna

The release of Kalki 2898 AD has sparked curiosity about the portrayal of Lord Krishna in the film. While the character was played by a Tamil actor, many fans believe an established star could bring greater depth to the role. Interestingly, director Nag Ashwin decided not to reveal Lord Krishna’s face in the movie but shared his thoughts on casting Mahesh Babu for a full-length mythological role.

Mahesh Babu as a Perfect Fit for Lord Krishna

Speaking at a recent event, Nag Ashwin expressed his belief that Mahesh Babu would be an excellent choice to portray Lord Krishna in a larger-than-life role.

“I didn’t want to show the face of Lord Krishna in the Kalki universe. But if there’s a full-length role, I think Mahesh Babu will be the perfect fit. His fan base is immense, and even before a teaser release, such a movie would already be a blockbuster. I truly believe it would collect massive box office numbers,” Nag Ashwin stated.

The director also mentioned his admiration for Mahesh Babu’s performance in Khaleja, where the actor brilliantly portrayed a human with divine qualities. “The way he balanced being human and god-like in Khaleja was beautiful. I’m confident he could pull off a full-fledged god role effortlessly,” he added.
