Male Staff Stayed Silent During Saif Ali Khan’s Attack
The recent stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has left the film industry in shock. What’s even more startling is the revelation that male staff members were present during the attack but took no action to prevent it.
Male Staff: Crime Scene Recreation
On January 16, the Mumbai police escorted the accused, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, to Saif’s Bandra residence to recreate the crime scene. The accused brought to the 12th floor of the building where the actor resides, followed by the garden area where he hid for nearly two hours after the incident to evade arrest.
Investigation Details
The police questioned Shehzad about his escape tactics, particularly how he managed to avoid CCTV detection. As part of the investigation, forensic experts collected his fingerprints from multiple spots, including the bathroom window, the entry and exit doors, the duct shaft, and the ladder he used to gain access to the residence.
An official revealed to PTI, “The local police and crime branch visited the actor’s Satguru Sharan building and collected fingerprints as part of the probe. The forensic team also examined the building.”
Male Staff Reaction Raises Concerns
Disturbingly, four male staff members were on the upper floor of the house when the incident occurred on the lower floor. However, they failed to act while the accused stabbed Saif six times. Contrastingly, female staff members displayed remarkable bravery by locking the attacker in a room, ultimately saving the actor.
Police officials noted that if the male staff had acted promptly, Saif could have been saved from the severe injuries he sustained.
A Wake-Up Call
This incident raises questions about the accountability and preparedness of domestic staff in handling emergencies. While the courage of the female staff is commendable, the inaction of the male staff highlights the need for better training and vigilance.
