Gaddar Awards: A New Era for Telangana Film Recognition
After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the Nandi Awards program was discontinued, leaving a void in Telangana’s film industry. For ten years under BRS rule, no effort was made to establish a state-level film award. However, under Congress Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, things have taken a positive turn. Determined to recognize cinematic excellence, the Telangana government has officially launched the Gaddar Awards, fulfilling a long-discussed prospect.

Awarding the best mainstream films that have made a significant impact.
🌏 National Integration Film
Recognizing films that promote unity and national harmony.
👶 Children’s Film
Honoring outstanding cinema made specifically for young audiences.
🌿 Film on Environment, Heritage & History
Celebrating films that focus on cultural heritage, history, and environmental issues.
🎥 Debut Feature Film
Encouraging new talent by recognizing the best first-time filmmakers.
🖥️ Animated Film
Appreciating creativity and excellence in animation.
📢 Social Impact Film
Highlighting films that have contributed to social change.
🎞️ Documentary Films
Acknowledging impactful real-life storytelling through documentaries.
📽️ Short Films
Recognizing outstanding short-format films that showcase creativity and storytelling.
Nomination Process & Eligibility
Eligible Films: Released between 2014 and 2023
Selection Process: One winner per category will announced for each year from 2014 to 2023
Where to Apply: Nominations must submitted to the Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC) starting March 13
