Bhumana Karunakar Reddy Supports Jagan Mohan Reddy
Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, YCP senior leader, has publicly supported Jagan Mohan Reddy amid a heated family dispute involving Jagan’s sister, Y.S. Sharmila. Recently, YV Subba Reddy, another senior leader, also defended Jagan, stating that he has already provided Sharmila with her fair share of family assets.
Sharmila’s Alleged Support for TDP
Bhumana claims that Sharmila’s recent actions, including her public accusations, indirectly support TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu. According to Bhumana, her actions align with TDP’s objectives, which has caused strain within both her family and political relationships. Furthermore, Bhumana believes that Sharmila’s behavior has isolated her, branding her a “lone warrior” due to these actions.
Asset Distribution Claims Spark Debate
Bhumana shared that Jagan previously promised to give 40% of his personal assets to Sharmila and has fulfilled this commitment. He emphasized that these assets belong solely to Jagan, dismissing media claims that these are family properties. According to Bhumana, the media’s portrayal of these assets as joint family property is misleading and will not hold over time.
Sharmila’s Allegations and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy Defense
In her statements, Sharmila accused Jagan of depriving her and her children of their rightful inheritance. She also stated that YS Rajasekhara Reddy, their late father, intended for his assets to be shared equally among his grandchildren. However, Bhumana responded by explaining the legal complications tied to Jagathi Publications and other attached properties, which were seized by the Enforcement Directorate.
Bhumana Karunakar Reddy Alleged Conspiracy with TDP
According to Bhumana, Sharmila’s actions appear to support TDP’s agenda. He suggested that Chandrababu Naidu is using her to discredit Jagan. Reflecting YCP’s sentiments, Bhumana voiced his disappointment in her behavior. He explained that the YCP cadre believes Sharmila’s actions betray her loyalty to her family and her late father’s legacy.
Longstanding Bond with the YSR Family
Despite his criticism, Bhumana expressed a continued affection for Sharmila, acknowledging his longstanding relationship with the YSR family. However, he questioned her actions, saying she is manipulating YS Vijayamma to gain shares in Saraswati Power. According to him, her goal is to challenge Jagan’s bail while appearing innocent to the public.
Family Dispute Goes Public
Bhumana further alleged that Sharmila shared family property documents with TDP, which later uploaded them online. He criticized Naidu for creating monthly distractions to cover unfulfilled promises. Reflecting Ambati Rambabu’s recent statement, which likened Sharmila to a “stray arrow” from Naidu’s camp, Bhumana underscored the YCP’s disappointment in Sharmila’s actions.
