With the Independence Day lineup featuring mass action blockbusters like Mr. Bachchan and Double iSmart, AAY, a lighthearted comedy from GA2 Pictures, has also hit the screens. Directed by debutant Anji K Maniputhra, AAY brings a refreshing mix of love, comedy, and friendship, set in the picturesque backdrop of a small Godavari town. The film stars Narne Nithin, Rajkumar Kasireddy, Ankith Koyya, and Nayan Sarika in prominent roles, each contributing to this vibrant, comedy-driven story.

AAY Storyline: A Love Story Complicated by Caste Differences

The story of AAY revolves around Karthik (Narne Nithin), a software engineer based in Hyderabad who returns to his hometown, Pasarlapudilanka, to work remotely. While in his hometown, he falls in love with Pallavi (Nayan Sarika), a local girl. Although Pallavi reciprocates his feelings, she steps back once she realizes they belong to different castes. The movie then explores whether the couple can overcome societal norms and their own fears to be together.

Performances: Laughter Leads the Way

Narne Nithin, who is Jr. NTR’s brother-in-law, delivers his second performance after the success of MAD. While his dancing impressed, his acting in emotional scenes left room for improvement. Nayan Sarika gave a solid performance as Pallavi, showcasing comfort and ease in her role.

The standout performer is undoubtedly Rajkumar Kasireddy, whose impeccable comic timing elevates the film. His interactions with Ankith Koyya bring about laugh-out-loud moments, particularly in the first half. Ankith Koyya’s performance complements Rajkumar’s humor, and together, they create a memorable comedic duo.

Vinod Kumar, although appearing in a limited role, made a strong impression. Mime Gopi, as Pallavi’s father, unfortunately, didn’t get the depth his character deserved.
